The South Jones High School Band has built a reputation as one of the most successful performing arts group in the state of Mississippi. They have consistently received superior ratings and won first place awards in marching, concert, and sight-reading at festivals and contests in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
The South Jones Band of Braves are currently back to back 5A State Marching Champions.
The South Jones Band program has established a tradition for many years by placing numerous students in All-State Bands & the Mississippi All-State Lions Band. South Jones students have performed in Boston, San Diego, New York, Chicago, Denver, Hawaii, Miami, Indianapolis, San Diego, Minneapolis, Toronto, Montreal, London, Paris, Rome, Vienna, Germany, Australia, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan.
The South Jones Band Program continues to grow in its success each year.
