Wind Ensemble

The South Jones High School Wind Ensemble is made up of 60 fantastic musicians. This ensemble is composed of musicians who are mostly upperclassmen who have advanced their technique and musicality in the concert band setting. The ensemble has consistently received superior ratings at State Concert Evaluation along with the MHSAA Sweepstakes Award.   The South Jones Wind Ensemble has performed at various festivals across the country and has recently been a part of two consortiums to publish new works for wind band. In addition to participating in commissioning new works the ensemble has had the pleasure of being under the guest batons of Dr. Colin McKenzie, Director of the School of Music from the University of Southern Mississippi, Mr. Randy Dale, Associate Director of Bands from The University of Mississippi, as well as Mr. Artie Adams, Director Emeritus from South Jones High School.
